Change to Air Force’s RIF Board Schedule
The officer reduction in force (RIF) board, which was scheduled to meet on June 16, will now meet in October. The date change is a result of legal issues associated with RIF boards, so that Airmen would not have to meet more than one board in a short period of time. Due to this change, some officers who would have been eligible in June will no longer be eligible and vice-versa. The new separation date will be no later than April 30, 2015. This RIF board is one of more than a dozen programs the Air Force will use this year to help deal with budget cuts resulting from the sequester.

Federal Budget
The Office of Management and Budget confirmed that federal agencies will not be affected by any additional sequester-related cuts in FY14, which will allow some agencies to ease up on hiring restrictions and other cost-cutting measures.
